Product Description

This product was created for easy use as a souvenir.

It recreates the artisan's technique from the late Edo period, when genuine shark skin was fastened with rivets.
Committed to authentic cooking tools,
as a complement to delicious cuisine,
we carefully selected and meticulously crafted the finest genuine shark skin.

It allows for fine grating,
enhancing both the aroma and pungency.

Currently, it is our unique original product,
and we also hold a utility model patent.

When grating fresh wasabi with shark skin, the cells of the fresh wasabi are finely broken down, releasing its aroma and pungency.
While metal graters can also be used,
the metallic taste can impair the flavor and pungency,
and it produces less viscosity, so the original flavor
and pungency of fresh wasabi are not fully brought out.
Furthermore, the most important nutrients of fresh wasabi cannot be extracted with metal graters.

How to grate fresh wasabi
1: Trim off the leafy part.
2: Roughly scrape off the bumps.
3: Wash with a scrubbing brush.
4: Grate in a circular motion, starting from the leaf end.

Tips
・Grate slowly in a circular motion, without applying too much pressure, as if drawing the Japanese character "no" (の).
When it becomes a fine, sticky cream, you'll have delicious wasabi.

・Can be used not only for wasabi, but also for vegetables such as green onions and carrots, and fruits like apples.
Ingredients melt like snow and become a light mousse-like consistency, somewhere between pulp and juice.
Adding it just before serving dishes can provide a pleasant aroma and a refreshing sensation.

【Precautions】

the skin may become steamed and prone to peeling.
Soaking in hot or cold water or drying in direct sunlight can cause peeling.
Do not soak in water or hot water.

●If the wood and skin remain damp for a long time every day, the shark skin or wood may be damaged.
Also, after drying, the wood part may crack or warp.
Periodically allow the shark skin grater to rest and dry in the shade.

●Genuine shark skin is a natural, high-grade skin, and the texture may vary slightly in some areas.

★If you use it frequently, using two shark skin graters alternately is the secret to making them last longer.
